They would be noticable, not huge but it will all add up.

You may as well go for it. After all, at some point I'm sure you'll want a larger turbo, maybe a better flowing IM, etc.

well according to the dyno chart provided you "could" gain over 100 lbs of tq and around 60 hp.....that would be noticable in anybodys car

yeah I am plannin' on it. thinking going to the Big16G hopefully sooner....Well that chart showed a quite a huge power gain, what I'm asking is what would be the average(?) power gain one may be looking at if these cams were to get dropped in

Considering you have a stock turbo, it will probably help a little more. Having a bigger turbo obviously means a little more lag, and the higher the lift and duration of a cam, the less low end oomph you get. So, it makes sense to me that on a stock 14b, you would still have the quick spool up, and with the addition of these cams, a better pull up top.

If you're looking at cams, consider doing the FP 2x cams. I've been examining the tech specs and they've really got something going for them - instead of just larger lobes, they are modified profile shape.

They push the valves out faster for a longer hold and then drop faster. Of course this requires you upgrade to double springs, but that would be a good idea for the 272's.

If you go with the FP1x, they end up having similar high rev performance (slightly lower) to the 272's and much better low end without having to immediately upgrade your turbo.

The decision will be about how you will use your vehicle. 272's on a daily driver will make it feel like you're driving around a v8 on the verge of stalling at stoplights, but will be more fun when you're taking on others (assuming appropriate fuel system upgrades accommodated).
