HELP Problem with the fuel sending unit

ok heres the problem ive got and im sure im not the only one whos had it i got a 255 walbro fuel pump. I went to disconnect the line to the sending unit for fuel no problem. Then i went to unbolt the 6 7mm bolts that hold it down and 3 of them borke. yes i soked them in bp plaster to help and they still broke. I was wondering what the easiest fix it for this would be? I need to fix it for a few reasons. One is because its all 3 on the left side of the sending unit that broke. another is all i smell in the car car is gas. last but not least some fuel will come out if i go around a coner hard enough and i havent had the tank full yet........any advice would be great

Your best bet would be to drain the tank, cover the hole with some rags, find some left-handed drill bits, soak the drill bit while you are drilling with either tapping compound or anti-freeze and drill them out. I specified left handed drill bits because as they are drilling, they will actually unwind so you don't have to drill all the way out. This seems like the best way to do it without risking an explosion (sorry).

i should be able to buy new studs right and put them in after i get the old ones the broke out correct? im alittle neveros with the gas even when i drain ive got to worry about the vapors what a pain ahhh!
