difference in mafs

So i looked around on the threads and couldn't quite find an answer. I've read up on the whole 2g maf into a 1g and have no problems performing the actual install however my question lies within the 2g maf. I've noticed on mitsu cars and trucks built after 94 they seem to use a very similar maf (montero, galant, 3000gt n/t). Since its not always possible to locate a maf off of a 2g turbo dsm would one of these other mafs work? They seem to all have the same connector, wire color, and location. The only other problem i would have would be for an intake tube for which I would aquire some other way and a B.O.V recirc tube unless i decided to vent. Would the mafs mount up the same way to the intake tube? Thanks in advance

The MAF from a 3000GT non-turbo is the same as a 2g MAF. I may be jumping the gun here but it would be logical to say that other 6G72 SOHC or DOHC Mitsu powered vehicles will share the MAF with the n/t 3000GT - I don't know that for sure but it would make sense to me. A 2g intake pipe will be necessary to mount either; yes they will fit the same.

You could also consider finding a 3G 501 maf and swapping to it. The outlet is the same as a 1G, so whatever intake pipe you're currently using will work. Also, if you really want to be creative, you can swap it into a 1G maf housing and have a really trick sleeper. The only problem is that I'm not sure how the 3G maf calibration compares to the 2G. I'm currently in the process of doing this on one of my buddy's cars, though. He is getting rid of his 2G maf and conversion harness and going to a 3G in a 1G airbox to keep everything appearing stock.
