catalytic converter and CEL

how do you upgrade this without the CEL coming on? i had a test pipe on there for years and it never came on...then one day BAM! i put a non OBDII cat on with the o2 bung after and it's still stuck. whats up?

Get a ODBII scan tool off eBay for like $30. Then read/clear your codes. If both your sensors are working well, then the CEL should not come on (unless there is something else throwing a CEL). In the mean time try unhooking you battery to clear the CEL codes. Tom.
