how hard is it to put a motor in a 95 eclipse RS with the 420A 2.0L. when the 2nd car dont have a motor in it. i am trying to buy a car with no motor and but mine in it ### i wrecked mine. :dsm: :dsm:

not too hard, but not bashing or anything, you have no grasp on what you are doing, its not too hard just not a job I would reccomend for you alone. But take the engine out of the other car, if you can do that, you can put it back in.

i now how to change an engine and i have done just not on this model of car. done a ford probe, chevy, 3000gt, and watch several people do it too. just not on a eclipse.

well I can do a 4g63t in a day. I've honestly never touched my Eclipse RS, 420a is a whole new world for me, just get a few disposable cameras, ziplock bags, masking tape, and a sharpie, lable every bolt, hose, and wire. Mark multiple bolts with colors corrosponding to the hole they go into. and take pictures of things before you take it off.

Nothing particularly difficult about it. Numlock666 has pretty much got you covered. Be sure to double check all your connections, especially in the rear of the motor, where people tend to forget to plug in the knock, crank, and oil sensors/senders.

Wiring is pretty much plug and play, your going from same engine to same engine, it's not like a 6bolt swap or anything where it reqires some wiring and fab work. If possible unplug the harness at the ECU and leave all sensors and wires hooked to the engine hooked to the engine and when you drop it in, just plug it back into the ECU. Saves you some harness hell. I spent two days trying to figure out where a harness went behind my manifold near the coils on a 6bolt. And a buddy said something about A/C and I remembered that I didn't have A/C anymore and thats what the harness was for. I felt stupid. But if you have to unplug sensors lable it, and they usually are lenghted only to plug into what they are ment to be plugged into, and only fit what they are supposed to be plugged into.
