I have recently used an eliminator kit to remove my balance shafts. Do I need to get my motor balanced? If I don't what are the drawbacks? I do not mind vibration but I do mind spending money to fix things that were not done right the first time.

You dont need to get your engine balanced. All the balance shafts do is get rid of the vibration they dont actually balance your internals. :thumb:

I ask because I friend of tells me horror stories about his crank bearings going bad and all this other crazy stuff... I believe he also had an undampened under drive crank pulley. I can see that being a problem but just thought I would ask. Any one experience problems without balancing their motor and removing their balance shafts?

You are on the money when you say that his problems were mostly caused by the undampened crank pulley.

I've had mine out for about 7 months now. Daily driver at 90 miles a day. I have not had any problems at all. I'm also running the Prothane mounts and the vibration is minimal. I don't think you need to worry about balancing.

Good to hear. I too have the prothane mounts. Again, vibration doesn't bother me... If I have problems I will be sure to let you know. Any one else? If I get three okays then I will feel better.

Everyone agrees? I thought there would be more debate... I guess this is simple and straight forward. Thanks all...

No debate. Unless you are taking the motor apart. Anything you disassemble a motor you are wasting money if you don't get all of the proper machine work done and balance even the stock internals again. Can't count how many time's people "build" there motor's by honing the block and throwing in some aftermarket pistons/rods without boring, line honing and balancing everything.
