OEM clutch

Im sure you could get away with it, but why not upgrade. You know you will want more power. Spend money now so your not wasting money in the future.

Hmmm, well, its a waste of money to buy a clutch disk that he doesn't need because it holds just fine for the power level at which he's running.

TC Mueller, you don't have an upgraded turbo or even an upgraded turbine housing for the 14B. You dont have enough fuel flow to go through a stock clutch quickly being that you're still running stock injectors. But I'me basing this off of your profile where you have stated that you have an aCT 2600 w/ a street disk. . .

I ran 13.4 all day long back w/ my 14b and stock fuel system and stock clutch. I had to slip alot being FWD. . . But it did let go, eventually. It started slipping after about 4K miles and runnign at the track every other weekend. This is the friction surface waring though (from slipping the clutch so much). You, on the otherhand, have to worry about your hub springs, considering a good AWD launch consists of dropping the "bomb" at 5K+ rpms. Not really slipping. I've done hard shifting into 3rd and my clutch oem clutch hub springs held on just fine.... There was no slip or tire burnout/cherp, so the clutch disk took all the torque.

well it had an act2100 when i bought the car. then that went shortly after, along with the trans. so with the new trans going in i needed a new clutch one of my buddys had a used act 2600 that he sold me for 50 bucks with the disc. it had about 40,000 miles on it and then that went. and im selling the car so i just need somthing quick to get it drivable so i can get it out here.

Well any clutch will be last if you don't shower down on it. OEM clutches are designed to handle stock torque. Are you running stock torque? If you're planning to sell it, adding a clutch that matches the power output is a selling feature. Of course, you can always hide this and not mention the clutch to one who's buying it. But who won't ask?

I would feel terrible doing that to someone. And Im pretty sure Im not running stock torque. I have basic bolt ons. BUT, right now in the car i have the act 2600 pressure plate and if that ones shot i have the 2100 just sitting in my room. can the stock disc hold? I dont know much about drivetrains but is it the disc that needs to hold power or the pressure plate? or do they work hand in hand?

A stock disk can hold but not for long. Long enough for the buyer to get comfortable maybe. I'd get an ACT street disk and call it a day. The 2600 presure plate insures there will be no slippage. HOWEVER, a stock clutch disk's springs are NOT strong enough to last any good time for decent power (like over 280hp or so), from my experience.
