car is running very poorly after fixing exhaust leak...PLEASE HELP!!

alright well here is my problem. i changed my tranny the other day and put it back together and it ran fine but wouldent push over 4 psi of boost...reason being my down pipe where it bolts to the turbo was leaking (t3/t4 5 bolt flange)...so i fixed that and took it for a ride and it seemed fine, went to 15 psi which is what i have it set to, then i tried doing another pull and it only went to 3 psi and then i went home and shut it off and looked at a few things under the hood and everything looked fine...so started it back up and thats when i really started having problems, the car idles at 1700 and when you hit the gas it sputters and sound like its running on three cylenders.It almost sems as if its starving for gas but i know its not. plugs and wires are brand new, the motor is a jdm evo 1 motor, also when i pull off the positive battery terminal the car dies...do you thinks it my alternator??

Definately take the alternator in someplace and have it checked. Also, check for boost leaks.

1) Recheck the flange.
2) Make sure the connections to the alternator are not loose or corroded.
3) Make sure the alternator belt is on securely.

Ok well i let the car sit for a while and when i got out of work i started it up and it ran great, i drove it around all night and it boost and runs fine...thank you anyways guys!!
