the shaft play is real bad and the turbine wheel is badly damaged i just got the car 2months ago kid said the turbo was replaced about 4 months before i bought it and i know it was cause ive known the kid for awhile but can this be repaired or do i need to buy a whole new turbo the car was running 20lbs is that to much boost for a evoIII? id put this in the turbo forums but it wont let me. what is the cheapest way to repair this?
 
Well you can either get it rebuilt for a couple hundred bucks, or (this is what i would do) simply buy a new one for 500 bucks and get it ported and not have to worry about it for a long time :)
 
you can buy a new cartridge from turbochargers.com for $400 Swap housings and call it a day:thumb:
