Electrical problem!

ive posted this once and have not yet got any help....


turn the key the lights come on...

turn the key to start it lights go off as if it here is no battery...

take the cable off the battery lights come back on and it repeats!

help please

Make sure your baterry terminals are not loose. Tighten it then try.

Agreed. If you mess with your terminals and then it starts, you found your problem. Clean your terminals and posts, then tighten the hell out of 'em. If the problem persists, then get some new terminals on there(5 bucks at schucks). I had the same problem on my 91 GSX, the battery posts weren't quite big enough to keep good contact with the terminals no matter how much I tightened 'em, so every once in awhile it would do exactly what you are describing until I repositioned them. I thought I needed an alternator or something since a jump would start it every time.

Sounds like bad battery terminal connection. Had that problem... Cleans my terminals and connectors.. try again. Make sure your battery is holding a charge and is good- Should fire right up.

If you hear the "ChinK!" when you go to start after cleaning the battery terminals / double checking its good, then time to start trouble shooting that starter relay / starter solenoid.

ok let me try and re word this...

you turn the key and ## dash lights come on...

then you turn it to start it and the lights go off and the car wont start

thats my problem its like after i go to start the car it loses all electrical power

cleaned posts and terminals all clean hooked it back up ive got power...

turn key no power...

put jumper cables on it and it wants to turn over now but the alarm is like ghetto rigged so it works sometimes and it doesnt and i cant turn it off... i think thats whats stopping it from turning on

also when my car ran when coming to a light my car would turn off or when coming to a stop...

If this alarm is truley "ghetto" rip it out, better yet have an experienced tech rip it out, sounds like you got a "starter disable" malfunction from the alarm.

If you remove, or suficeintly disable the alarm it should work, have you tested the battery for charge/ha it charged ?

A dead battery can surprisingly run lights, stero etc but not have the 400+amps to crank our moded cars over

yea i think thats what my problem is ive gotta find a tech who will come out to my house and rip it out cus i cant get the car runing obviously...
