Hey guys what's up? First off, I searched like always no need to tell me, I never post questions for that reason. Annnywayyyyy.
So heres' teh deal, I got a 14b from someone on Tuners and boosted at 4k RPM's. (It had massive cracks in the exhaust housing and wastegate hole so I figured that was the problem) A few months later I pick up a beautiful new 14b from the one and only Nomie. This thing was perfect not one crack. So I slap it on and still spooling at 4k. I was pissed. I come to find out it is infact the wastegate not completely shutting (Open dump, I was able to hear and feel the exhaust coming out of the dump).
So now I shim the wastegate, I put 4 washers on one bolt and 1 washer on the other. Now it boosts fine at 3k but I can still hear the wastegate opening up around 3 lbs+ . I don't want to shim it more because the little ###cer is already creeping to 19 lbs. I tested the actuator when it was off by wiggling it, no movement. I tried the toher wastegate that came with the first 14B and same thing no movement and same spool characteristics.
Now, the car pulls and spools at 3k, but I'm just wondering
1. Why do both wastegate actuators need to be shimmed in order for them to stay closed, and is there a way to not have them shimmed because I'm sick of this creep.
Oh, and I love peanut butter.
