Anbody else running this kit out there? I haven't seen too many with it in their mods listings.

If you are running it, are you FWD or AWD and what other mods do you have? Any Dyno/Quarter Mile times out there?

Why do you say that? Do you have experience with this particular turbo? I have yet to meet another person that is running this set up or knows someone that is. Maybe that is saying something itself but RRE has an article about it on their Tech Tips page that seems to be somewhat positive.

Also, I already have it. :shhh: I did not buy it. It was installed on the car when I bought it. I don't have any track times or dyno runs, but it does do pretty well though on the butt-o-meter. I haven't reached it's potential yet either. I still need to install my FMIC, an AFPR, and injectors. Then I can boost it up a bit more.
I am just wondering if there is anyone out there that has this installed with all the supporting mods to reach full potential. Also, if they have any dyno numbers/track times.

Do a search on XS Engineering and you'll see why no one wants anything to do with them.

Actually, IHI manufactures the killer. IHI mainly specializes with subaru turbos. I was thinking about going this route, and did lots of research on this turbo...

Here is some info that might be useful:

Post #37 on the second link might be ALL the info you need on about the 16g killer. It doesn't quite provide dyno or 1/4 mile results, but gives you an overview of what you should expect out of this turbo...

Enjoy :dsm:

Ok, to put some hard numbers to this turbo.

This turbo also came on my car, so until its blown - its staying on. The rest of the car is built up around it - built up 6bolt with forged internals and ported head with 264/272 HKS cams, full 3in exhaust, 550's, 255 walbro, keydiver ecu, safcII, lightened flywheel, no cat, FMIC, etc... etc.. etc...basically the car is setup to reap all this turbo has to offer.

So - what does it do on the dyno. Well, I got 275whp and 273tq out of it. Here is thing. The torque is 100% available at 3000rpm which makes the car feel almost violent when taking off because you go straight from hardly any torque to all of it in less than 200rpm range. The IHI (16g killer) is a ball bearing so the lag is literally non-existent - hence the violent initial pickup.

So, what happens when spooling the PSI goes to 20lbs before tapering off above 5200 rpms - back down to 15-16psi. Actually 18PSI is about all this turbo seems to put out efficiently...I only have it at 20PSI because you can get a little bit more out of it when the temp is cold - but once its warmed up its really just blowing more hot air.

How do I feel about this - well since I didn't buy it I'm ok with it, but for anyone looking at buying it think about this - you can by a garret GT that is also ball bearing and probably spins up almost as fast but offers significantly more power in the mid to top end. Oh yeah and the cost of the killer is about even with a garrett. Some people think this turbo might be good on an autocross car, but it just seems like it is still a bit small and subject to creating heat sink (by the 3rd or 4th run tq was down to 250lbs due to heat) which is gonna happen on any turbo, but seems more so on this little guy.

Bottom line - save your money for a garrett or go with a non-ball bearing and save 700 bucks and get more power. I think if I had 50-75 more hp I could stand to wait for the torque another 1000 rpms or so. As it is now my car is capable of holding up out into 8000rpm, but the turbo quits giving more at 5000 so I'm missing a lot of potential.

One last word - its probably a fine turbo for daily driver as it won't over stress your vehicle unless your stupid and try to boost it too high and needlessly overheat everything while maybe only getting 2-3 more hp. If this is you - clean your K&N - it probably needs it.
