tranny pin problem

so the pin that goes through the linkage on top of the tranny snapped on me. the one that controls the forward and backward movement. it moves left and right fine but won't move forward into 1st 2nd or 3rd or backward into etc. the peice of the pin that is broke off inside the little knob dealie is seized in. i can't punch it out. it won't drill out because it's a rolled pin and i can't attach it any other way...what should i do
 
If you are talking about the pin on the shift shaft on the top of the tranny, then it's very difficult to remove it, yes. I can sometimes get the pin out with an air hammer. If that doesn't work, you may have to cut into the arm until it falls off the shaft. Just don't cut into or damage the shift shaft that is coming out of the case or you will have to tear the unit down to replace the shaft.
