Hi all, PLEASE help if you can. I recently started having a relay start ticking when the car ignition is either turned to ACC from off, or if the car is shut off from running (either to ACC, or completely off) The relays will keep ticking unless I arm my car alarm, or, get this, PULL MY HAND BRAKE!?

I thought this was very strange. As the relays tick, it sends a drop of power to an AF sensor on a guage pod, which will flicker the AF led's as the relays flicker. Also, sometimes other things will flicker with the realys as well (dash lights, map lamp etc...)

Tried disconnecting them, but the car wont crank over if you do that. Ive been blowing my stock radio fuse as well, (the other day it actually melted rather than blew). THis all started around the same time as the relay clicking. I know somehow this relay thing is tied into this whole electircal mishap.

Does anyone know what they do? Relay reads E8T101 with 6Z11 underneath it. There are 2 relays side by side, they both click, and were attached to the gold medal chasis shown with about 3 or 4 car wiring harness grounds going into them. (and everything works fine if you disconnect those grounds, I tried already)

The relays were attached BEHIND the gold chassis shown. I just brought them from behind so they can be seen in the photos

Fix the ground connection for those relays. (what you circled) That sounds like your problem.

Im pretty sure one of those is your fuel pump relay. (hence why it wouldnt crank over when disconnected)

well the black wires arent connected in the pic because I disconnected them in order to take a photo of the relays for the posting here, otherwise there connected

Glad to see someone knew what they were controlling. Let me ask you,

Normally, those black wires (which I thought were grounds are attached, just disconnected it for the pics)

What would cause those relays to keep ticking, and why is it they only tick when the car is on acc, or when shut off from running to off (unless I arm my alarm, or pull my hand brake)

Trying to fix a problem with my car doing 2 things:

1- When I shut off my car, the radio stays on along with the cigg lighter (sometimes)

2- My car will frequently blow the stock radio fuse

Im assuming somehow theres a connection since one of the relays controlls the ECU???

Left: fuel pump relay. Right MFI relay (controls all engine stuff and ECU). BTW none of the wires to those relays go to ground.

I have a 95 gsx and my relays are completely different seriously, i had to mess with them recently when car wouldn't start. They have different numbers plus they are not bolted down with no ground that i saw. They have a slot that they slide into and the fuel pump relay has a large black rubber covering it. Are they different in later models.
