Burning oil/no shaftplay/ need help...

Ok as the title says...
Just to give a quick run up on the car,

stock rebuilt 6bolt, engine broke in with motoman technique... Regular 10w40 oil used so far. 4k miles on it so far, been having oil smoking out
exhaust problems for 3 of those 4thousand miles, at first ignored it and
just kept putting more oil in assuming it was a bad 14b turbo...Upgraded
to a evo316g..Nope still smokes... Intercooler piping and core free of oil,
I even installed a 3dollar fuel filter catch can on the vacuum hose that runs to the valve cover and intake arm and doesnt ever catch a drop of oil. Leading me to not much blow by, yet I also changed my pcv valve and the smoking went down from a 8 out of 10 to a 5 out of 10... But still smokes way more than it should... I have no balance shafts and high oil pressure ( yet turbo feed still tapped to head in stock config. ) I then ported the relief valve to lower oil pressure back to normal acceptable pressure and even removed the turbo return hose and cleaned it out because I found a little bit of silicone protruding over the inlet/outlet hole, put it back together and drove it...It had no effect on the smoking... The evo3 has zero shaftplay...

I then removed the exhaust manifold to check for oil leakage around the ports ( in checking for bad valve stem seals)... Funny thing is there was oil residue on the back of the ex mani gasket but none in the ports, i even felt around in there for any signs of oil and none found... ( Didnt check intake ports.)

So now im getting stumped to what it is even though i feel like ive eliminated most possibilities except bad rings, or valve stem seals at this point...
2k miles ago compression was perfect but dont know how it is now. I need to do a leak down test but havent yet...The car pulls too good to be bad rings I think, but a crack oil ring land or something...possible...

It doesnt smoke at idle at all but it misses every once and a while at idle barely noticable miss, but im actually assuming it misses at idle because the exhaust makes a faint popping noise here and there..( I have full 3in exhaust no cat or muffler by the way.)

Well It smokes pretty bad under decelleration, and even worse under boost. The smoke never looks blue ( like most burning oil sympthoms appear ) The Smoke is always grayish looking....

A leakdown test would be my best bet i know, but will be at least another week before I can by the tester, in the meantime, Any opinions, help, or experiences with this most ANNOYING and stressful issue...?
 
In some cases this technique works. Get a breather filter and put it on the little outlit nipple on the side of your valve cover and block the hose going to your intake. So basically your eliminating that line going from you valve cover to intake. This stopped major smoking problems for 2 of my friends. Its easy to do and worth a try.

I have a 3 dollar fuel filter breather tapped onto that vacuum line like this..

I havent seen any oil collect in there yet....

I dont know its burning very inconsistantly ... But im probably going thru half a quart of oil every 2 weeks ( and thats if I was taking it easy at least 90 % of that time and not getting on it. )
But the day I ran at the track, and did a 45 minute drive there and back home I had almost burned a full quart in just that one day... The smoking is faint in cruising situations and idle, when I hit it and decellerate is when it presents itself more..

So ok, I took out the spark plugs today... Three of them were white looking ( like lean condition ) and I dont know why... I am tuned off the keydiver chip for a 11.1 a/f/r with evo mass compensation and 850cc injector compensation... Maybe a problem there?
Dont want to go off track too much, but by looking down into the holes were the pistons are I did see oil residue and burn oil looking substances on top of all four pistons as well as a slight film of oil on at least 3 of the spark plug threads. What would one be able to assume by this?
 
Even if you don't see any it wouldn't hurt to try. I used to have a little catch can between the intake and valve cover. It would smoke like crazy. Once i put a breather on it, it stopped. Its weird but easy to try.
 
Yea I dont think it will do anything but sure Ill try it for the hell of it...
I actually am at the point im about to sell this thing... Just sucks that most 1st gen dsms dont look nearly as good as mines.
The past year with this car has been nothing but stress and issues that I have all fixed now except the smoking problem and not to sound like im just giving up, but im not interested in fixing it anymore...
If I can sell it for at least 2 thousand, I am trying to buy my friends awd laser that has built tranny MHI e316g set up, fmic and a bunch of other mods etc, and his car is very reliable. Ive lost patience for mines, just isnt starting to feel worth it any more, i need something thats reliable to some type of degree since im in college still and what not...

But Im not trying to sell it here so dont want any moderators to give me a warning or anything so
in the meantime keep it coming with the diagnosis on this car because I still would like to get it to stop smoking, or if I can even get it to stop smoking just long enough to sell it and get it out of my hair LOL... ( Im taking a few of my mods and putting them to the awd dsm I get.)
