Big Turbo low boost bad?

Alright, what i want to do is run a big turbo and barley ever beat on my car and just have the turbo on for the strength of the big internals is that alright to do?
 
first you should look in the frequently asked dsm questions forum. depending on how big you think big is you may need upgraded bottom end internals, certainly a bunch of fuel, and some boost control. you could strap any size turbo on a car, but way big could act like a gt42 on a civic :(
 
sorry, i don't explain myself enough, but yes you have answered my question. I know about all of the upgrades i just want to stick a bigger turbo on and make sure i wont rune anything, i don't have the idea of racing my car at all, it's just a daily driver until im done building my frankinstein motor for it.
 
1. You should hope you don't get banned for having 2 accounts let alone telling people about it.
2. You can run a big turbo but it's horribly inefficient at anything below 15 psi usually. Just stick with the stock turbo until you get your "frankenstien" motor done. No point in bolting a huge turbo on and having something go wrong with it unless you wanna look like a Honda and have a big turbo just for looks.

Aside from that, well why im really posting this is because i don't want my turbo to blow since the car has 167,000 on the engine, im not dumb, im not gonna beat on my car, my rule is no higher than 3000 rpm in it. I don't care about the speed.
 
It doesn't matter about rpms. It matters about how much boost (or airflow) vs. how much fuel you have. If you have stock injectors then you can run up to 15 psi at the most on a STOCK longblock. This is a rule of thumb because all stock longblocks (Stock bore/stroke, stock cams, stock intake manifold, stock ports) flow a certain general lb/min at a particular boost. Stock or non-stock turbo, don't raise boost over stock levels unless you ahve a means to log injector dutycycle, rpms, & knock (or timing retard).

You obviously have not read our rules. We ask people to register only one account. There is no good reason to have multiple accounts on our site except to try and commit fraud. Laughing at our request after someone pointed it out to you tells me you don't value your account on our site very much. Why should we allow you to get your questions answered here if you're going to disregard our rules and laugh in our face about it?
