300-400 goal which one is better and why, for those with personal experience and daily drivers.

In that power range I would run a street disk. You are not making obsene power so either way you need a sprung disc. ACT does have sprung puck discs but I don't think you need it and the engagement won't be as nice. I stock them either way so if you need more details or pricing pm me.

The 6 puck is a bit more difficult to drive on the street in traffic. It is less forgiving to a sloppy release and more likely to bog or chatter. The 6 puck grabs like a mofo and will not turn into fuzz when it gets too hot. The 6 puck dramatically increases peak forces your transmission with see.
The street disc is easy to drive, smooth as silk. The street disc will slip when you engage it which not only allows a smooth launch but also smooths the peak forces out; it is easier for your tranny to live with. If you overheat it and abuse it, the street disc will go away and turn into so much greasy fuzz all over the inside of your bell housing.

I have driven both over thousands of miles in a 400hp car and by a large margin prefer the street disc.

Pucks are grabby and annoying on the street. I say go with A.C.T. 2600 with their street disc. It will be fine for the power you will be making and engages nice. You will hear the leg pressure is bad, but I barely notice. The clutch is one place that it is bad to over-engineer.

Anybody else want add their $0.2

Street disk FTW. Unless its an all out week warrior/drag car.

The puck yes will hold more torque (which is what clutches are rated for) not HP.

I think the pucks from my experience do not last nearly as long as a street disk. My opinion is based on the amount of material on a street disk compared to a puck.

I also believe pucks are way more chattery than street disks.

For that power a street disk 2600 is more than enough. My buddy had a 60-1 with over 375tq and drove the crap out of it.

see iv'e been running a fizinza flywheel and a 6puck sprung and love it. but i also down shift and up shift with out useing my clutch at all. like you should if you know what your doing.
works great.

love my set up. it's all a mater of opionion i guess.

Unless you run a Dogbox you obviously don't know what you are doing. DSM transmission were not made for that no matter what you think. Ask one of our fine vendors that rebuild transmissions. This has been debated before as well. I run an ACT 2600 SD and love it. When I got the car it had a puck but I changed it out and it is a lot more streetable and have made numerous track passes with no trouble.

I live in Houston where traffic starts at 6am and ends at 9pm so moving gets very very very slow i need to know if the 6 puck will send my leg to sleep if it will then street disk it is.

I have had a 6 puck for a few months and I have no problem with it. Not much harder to drive than a disk and I have a 540 lb pressure plate. I like knowing that my clutch is going to grab opff the line and not slip. For AWD cars I think that is what you want. For the FWD guys the slip is probably not hurting much. I dont have any drivability problems and if you want to save some money check out the XTD clutch's on ebay. I have heard that the flywheel does not hold up will but the clutches are solid. I like mine paired with the ACT lite flywheel.

Are you sure it is a 540lb pressure plate? Because the ACT one's are 2100lbs and 2600lbs.

my experience wit the ACT2600 and 6 puck was not so good. i must admit i liked it when i first installed it. the reason why i didnt like it afterwards, it was hard to drive in traffic, it chattered, after a year my transmission fork broke. i really wish i gotten the SD instead the first time.
