I was replacing my exhaust gasket on my 95 TSi as well as doing an oil change today. At first, I tried to remove the manifold, after I figured out that mitsubishi put bolt number 9 in a laughably horrible position, I stopped and proceeded with the oil change for the time being. In the attempt to remove manifold bolts, some studs came with it. When I added oil, I noticed oil coming out of the middle bottom exhaust stud hole. Im guessing that isnt normal. What the hell is that? Also, how the hell do I remove the powersteering shield to get to bolt #9?

I am pretty sure there is an oil galley back there on that one bolt. Best I was able to figure for the P.S. pump was to pull the 3 bolts to the pump and slide it right out to get to the last. The bracket is only held on by 2 bolts, and it is not too much extra to remove it.

I feel like a little girl now.

Thanks for the help tho.

LOL. I panicked the first time I saw oil come out of that hole too. The P.S. pump has a few different options, but I found it actually quicker to just remove than to "short cut" it.

I removed 3 bolts to the powersteering pump and it's not budging. 2 behind the belt and one behind the pump on the manifold side. These are the bolts right? I cant see another.
