hey guys, im running a ebay knock off of the tial 38mm wastegate dumping by the cross memeber into the atmosphere. I use to have it on a turbo civic for 1k and it was reasonbly quiet until i put it on my talon. Now its loud all the time, even at idle. I remember seeing this ring you could slide in place on the "in" of the wastegate and it would push the valve upward when you bolted it up. I do not have this peice in place(possible problem?). I still build boost fine and have vacumn hooked up as follows Turbo Elbow Nipple-->>MBC-->>MBC out-->Bottom nipple, Top nipple to atm. it sounds like i have a moderately sized exhaust leak and is getting old quick. Im getting weird looks by cops tooWTF
Im wondering if im better off just buying a new one.
any ideas would be cool:thumb:

Cool cool, now i have the joy of digging through all my spare dsm/honda parts:(
Know where i might find one of these rings if i cant find it?

If the knock off is the same as the real Tial that ring is what seals the valve. No ring equals exhaust leak all the time. Which in turn equals slower spool, working the turbo hearder & creating more heat, which can lead to shorter turbo life & knock. I would be getting that teaken care of asap & not push the car in the mean time.

Well thanks everyone! I found the ring after 30minutes of digging. popped her in and wow what a difference! its fast, and quiet under 10psi, and you gotta love the WTF expression on people's faces when the wastegate opens.
During the test drive some cocky '06 SI was weaving around in traffic, i never got the oppurtunity to see how fast one was so i got next to him. Its nice because their speedo is digital so you can see their mphs drop when they down shift. I couldnt help but shift into 3rd and blow past him as he looks at my car fly past as if something broke on his:tease:
Ah stupid civics:talon:

Oh yeah by the way for anyone who happens to loose or break some of their parts, extremepsi.com offers the entire rebuild parts for the tial 38mm and others i believe
