since i moved here to ohio where they don't sell e85, which i was running 50/50 back in PA, my car is tacking out the stock boost gauge knock sensor, the car is only at 16lbs creeping to 20 on an evo III 16g, the car has crower 280's, double valve springs and retainers, cam gears, head studs, metal head gasket, no BS, 750cc injectors, walbro 255, fmic, thats all i can think of right now, it didn't knock at all at ~28psi on 50/50 e85 and i move out here, and it will sometimes tack out the knock gauge at partial throttle under no boost which there is no way that is real, i just put a wideband in today, the car is still tuned for e85, so i assumed it would be rich but its also pegging the wideband at 10.0-1, i have never tuned in my life, i bought the car with dsmlink, and i need an usb adapter for my laptop, the seals on the turbo are blown, i have a new one thats going on this weekend, but does anyone know why it would knock so bad if its so rich??? i cant take it past 6k in second gear WOT without knock, any help at all would be greatly appreciated, sorry for the long post

thanks,

Cory

PS-the car is a 91 Galant vr-4 111/2000, made 320awhp on 50/50e85 before the cams, i got the cams for free, so i put them in i know they are big but i love them, the car has not been retuned since the cams

has this been a problem since you moved or since the cams were put in... i would check base timing if you have not already

check for a boost leak . My ic had a crack in it and i you get tons of knock at 2lbs of boost

yea it didn't knock after the cams before the move, it just started the first time i put regular gas in it, i didn't know a boost leak would cause knock, ill do a test this weekend and see...thanks

i just put the wideband in....there is a massive exhaust leak at the o2 housing, that im not going to fix right now because im putting the new turbo on friday....but the gauge is reading pegging the gauge lean at idle and pegging the gauge rich 10.0-1 at wot at 13lbs, would the exhasut leak cause it to read that lean at idle, and also, could too much gas contribute to knock?

thanks again guys,

Cory
