Hey whatsupp im completly new to DSMs...I had a lancer oz rally and sold it i got 10 grand now..I was originaly buying a 360whp Tsi but the guy screwed me over..So now what should i do..theres a nice TSI for 5000 but i can get him down 2 4000..but the motor has 95k miles..Should i keep that motor and hook it up with the rest of the money? Or should i get a rebuilt motor? Sugguestions please =x

it would all depend on what kind of shape the motor is in. If compression is good on all cylinders and its not showing any signs of crankwalk id say just invest into that motor and do a good rebuild with some forged internals and get a good turbo and upgrade the fuel system and you'll be in good shape

yea thats what i was going to do..Id rather..i just dont want to do all this shit to this motor and it crap out on me you know what i mean

if you invest in a good rebuild it should be able to handle a good amount of abuse

I say get a cheap 1g (any 1990-1994 Model) and do a engine rebuild AND a tranny rebuild. For $10k, you could buy the car, do a basic rebuild, and a Stage 1 Shep-Tranny Rebuild.. Click on the links for information. The engine and tranny rebuild the will cost you about $2000-$2500 together. If you find a 1g with a bad tranny and/or engine, you could pick it up for as little as $500 (I only paid $500 for the one you see in the avatar). That gives you $7000 to play with. With that much money I could EASILY get you into the 11's.

It depends on your goals is you want an all out racer the get the first gen and go nuts. But if you want a dd and the can kick some but get a newer dsm 97-99 and do some simple add ons and do the the body right, kit , rims, and get 360whp and be happy but again you have to understand what you want from your car.. IE I boought my wife's ride 97GST Spyder had a new motor installed(previous onwer) 4,000. Dropped it, 18's, EvoII, 560cc, injectors, wally 225, Bolt ons, painted and full stereo and only spent $3,000. So total is $7,000.

Yea what im going to do is buy a 96 with a 1gen swap.. i like the body styles alot better..So it has alot of work done..ill do that for like 6 grand and then if something ends up going bad i got 4 more grand to fix it
