awd galant question?

I found a 92 galant awd five speed non turbo. I have no idea about galants and i want to know if the awd system is the same on the non turbo as it is on the turbo(trans transfercase and rear end). Then can i swap an engine out of a 1g or a 2g turbo into the galant? Thanks for anyone that knows

It has a N/A 4g63, so it should work with minor alterations.

You sure he didn't say 4G engine? The non turbo AWD Galant's are rare to run across now adays. You would have to get the code off the tranny or search a bunch of off beat Galant web sites to find you're answer about the tranny similarities. I'd bet they are the same.

It's probably a Galant GSX. They came with the n/a 4g63, and the same awd as 1g's and VR4's, the only major difference is the gearing in the differentials and a weaker transmission. Installing a turbo engine is the same as installing one in a n/a DSM. If it has a decent body I'd definitely pick it up for $500.

Hey guys just went and looked at that galant today and i was right these guys didnt know what they had. It was a vr4 and it is a 92 it is number 642/1000 and it is kinda rough on the outside but the main thing is all the parts are there. so i am supposed to pick it up tomorrow for 500 bucks. thanks for all your help

Oh man!! Good find!!! My buddy has 626 of 1000  Get that sucker and fix it up!! I paid 600 for my non running 1G so 500 is a damn good deal for a running VR4 even if it is rough.

no it is turbo the guy who has it didnt even know it had a turbo on it. and i wasnt about to tell him any different i pick it up tommorow at three and i will take pics to put up
