I'm not sure where to put this, thus why i'm posting it in the newbie section.

I've been driving car for a good year now without problem but here recently i've come to notice, mainly while driving to work that after I accelerate decently hard, that once I let off of the accelerater and just coast as I slow down the CEL will come on and the car shudders if I try to hit the gas. However moments after I hit the gas the CEL goes away and the car is normal until I accelerate hard once more and then slow down by coasting.

So my question is what would cause this, is it something not closing fully?

Just speculation - sounds like a malfunction with the EGR system (the EGR valve may not be opening enough when decelerating; BTW deceleration is the only time when the EGR valve becomes active).

But Nate is right. Get the code read first. Or get a PocketLOGGER and read it yourself.

Hey xyexz
Dont know if this is your problem, but i had the same thing happen to me one time. Had the code checked it was a misfire. I could never find why it happend, but it never did it again....yet :)

Been a while since i've posted on here but never got around to fixing this issue because I had bigger issues, but now car is running fine as far as boost and i've come full circle back to this issue, I took the advice of my father who is a mechanic and disconnected the egr valve and drove it like that for a while.
I drove from columbus to dublin and didn't have any issues with it until the last 5mins of my drive.
Is it possibly the something in the EGR system is bad even though egr valve is disconnected that could be affecting it still?
