I just blew up my 14b turbo. I was wondering if it had to do with my boost spiking, which would probably be caused by myboost controller. I run 19 psi at WOT after it spikes to 25 psi. Could this have caused the death of my turbo?

Probably the death of your motor first. If your profile is correct, I don't see any fuel mods besides the SAFC to support you turning up the psi.

Its been said that on the stock fuel system with the 14b, its not safe to run over 16 psi, I think. Turning it up to 19 psi may've contributed to a blown turbo.

One of the problems with running over 16 psi boost isnt just the fuel pump or the tuning, its the injectors as they cant handle it, at 19 psi id recomend at least 680's if not something in the 700's. as for the turbo blowing i would think its the fact that 19 psi creats alot of heat and you dont have a FMIC. lack of cooling for the turbo to run properly. thats what i think anyways correct me if im wrong

Intercooler doesn't cool the turbocharger. It cools down the intake charge. Coolant liquid and oil cool down the turbo.

How do you know your turbo is blown?

If you were spiking it to 25psi, then going ahead and shutting it down 30 seconds later, you could have verry well coked up the bearings.

Was your turbo healthy/new to begin with, or was it on it's last legs? A newer turbo should be able to handle that kind of abuse, one with 100 million miles will give up the ghost.

Yeah, your right. It wasn't overly abused by me and I have a turbo timer as well. When i bought it it had like 70k on it. Im not worried about that, i have another one already in hand. Since my car is automatic, at partial throttle i can get the boost us close to 25psi. When im at WOT though it rests at 19psi where i wanted it.

oh and what happned was when i was on the highway, i was gonna do a pull. Well once i hammered the gas, nothing. Then a split second later i heard a noise and a cloud of blackness covered the road behind me. After this anytime i accelerate a white/bluish smoke comes out and i can't go above 0 vaccum into boost. If i free reve it goes up to 0 vac then starts goin back to like 10 and 15.
