For a while ive been wanting to start to tune my TSi, and ive so far decided that i want to get a GM MAF and translator, and a datalogger with EGT guage and what not. But my question is, since im new to tuning and datalogging, do you tune WTIH the datalogger? Like do yoou make your fuel trim adjustments and what not on it? or would an SAFC be needed?

You don't do anything "with" the datalogger. You are able to read some of your engine's parameters. It lets you view and read the information. You can't make any adjustments through the datalogger. Read more here. However, being able to read information is very important. Purchase the software ASAP and locate a PDA in the Classifieds section or on eBay (you can find them for as cheap at $10).

so running an MAFT with an SAFC would be agood idea? or would just one of the two work? i know the SAFC goes by increments of 1%, and the MAFT in 5%, so the SAFC is more accurate, but the best of both worlds could be a better route, just the cost would be higher.
