Another thread about a knocking sound

I have a stock long block with 120,000 miles on it. Few months ago I took my car out of storage and was driving it around. I didn't know it at the time, that there was an oil leak from my turbo return line. Needless to say while I was driving on the hwy my oil light came on. My stock pressure gauge looked in the norm (don't think it's too accurate). Put oil in it as soon as I could (2 miles) needed 2qts.

About a thousand miles later, I started to hear a slight knocking sound at very very low load. Like just enough to accelerate. It's noticable in the first two gears because of less road noise. I say around 2k - 4k. I've had new lifters. No exhaust leaks. I give her nuts and you don't hear it at all, and she still pulls strong, like before the incident. My datalogger goes crazy at low load, but the knock counts go away as soon as I step on the gas. So I'm sure the sensor is picking up that sound at low load.

A buddy of mine said it's probably my rod bearings, but not sure. Any thoughts?

Well honestly it's kinda hard to say. I can barely get it to make that sound while free reving it. I can hear it faintly, sounds like it would be coming from the upper part of the cylinder closest to the timing belt. Once the engine is in gear and in a very light load, it's much louder.

First thing that starves for Oil is the Balance Shaft Bearings (which I think you've deleted per your Profile) - Then the Rod Bearings, it would be a shame to destroy what looks to be an otherwise very sound Motor so you may want to bite the bullet... Good Luck
