Drive Axles

Can i use my A/T drive axles on M/T drive axles

I went to Autozone.com and looked up the part numbers. They had varying flavors of 2g CV shafts. They had part numbers for CV's with ABS and some wtihout ABS, they had part numbers for CV's for AT and some for MT. My suggestion: call an autozone or dealer, or if you have the CV's from both trannies, just compare them. When did my swap, I went from a LSD to a non-LSD adn could not use the 4 bolt CV's

Are you thinking front or rear?

To my understanding ----

The fronts are different by length. The MT intermediate axle is a little longer to reach the tranny.

The rear depends on if its LSD or not. One axle is longer to reach inside a LSD rear end.

But from what 2Liter says, I can tell you that is true.
There are 2 different types of trannies (Auto vs Manual) x 2 different brake options (ABS non ABS) = 4 different types of axles for the front.
There are 2 different ratios of rear ends (Auto vs Manual ratios) x 2 different types of rear ends (LSD vs non LSD) = well you would think 4, but Im pretty sure as long as you match LSD to LSD and non LSD to non LSD, youre safe.


Ill find out pretty soon once I finish the MT swap. Ill post some results if I remember.

I to have the same question. My local Auto Parts Store said that the axles are one and the same for A/T and M/T according to there computer. But when I removed the Drive Axles they look well different but all seems to fit. I have to just figure out how to get the end of the axle that goes into the tranny out and I am all set to put the new ones one =)
