Ok, since my last thread got a little off topic, ill make one that covers a more general perspective. Well first off, I have idle surge. But thats not the major problem. Under load, or trying to drive, it surges also. If i try to hold the throttle open at a steady rpm, it just surges really fast. I tried driving it to school today to run the scanner on it, but i got about a block, and took it back home because it was really bad. When you try to take off, the car just rocks back and forth with the rpms. Violently. I got it to actually go once or twice, because i had to give it a couple quick revs for the rpms to finally go up. Now, im thinking this could be the combination of a clogged fuel filter, and bad 02 sensor. Or is this a symptom of idle surge? Any input can and will help.

im gonna go to Dorn next week when i get paid and buy the parts to make a good boost leak tester.

I dont mean to insult, but you aren't trying to vent your stock BOV. I've seen people try to do it, and have worse problems then that, and the same one.

But yes, boost leak check first and formost, after that i'd check MAF

when i bought the car, yes the BOV was vented, so as soon as i got home, i cut some hose and recirculated it. The MAF was disconnected also when i bought it. I know thats not good, but it was the only way to run it. Is it possible for an MAF to go bad?

Yes, like anything else. Whoever had that car before, was "smart enough" to disconnect their maf, and vent their BOV I'm quite sure they never did a Leak test. Do it, and then go from there.

well i was thinking since they messed with a lot on this car, they may have hacked the MAF too much. I pulled it off, and one of the pins in the connector was bent nearly straight up! so i straightend it, and started her up, but it still ahd the same problems. But now ive got a CEL. which leads me to believe the 02 sensor is bad. Not sure though, im going to get a 12v buzzer to find out what the CEL is about. Im gonna try and get a boost leak test done ASAP.

OK, i did it right this time, i forgot to reconnect the battery and let it run so it would get a CEL. And it came up with 2 codes(i think)
25 - Barometric Pressure sensor(WTF is that?)
and 14 - TPS( i tested that before and knew it was bad)

So what do i have to replace that is a Barometric pressure sensor?

did some more research on the BPS, and found that its in the MAF, which emans i have to replace my MAF. So im gonna order one from the classifieds.
