Do you just use an ENGINE freeze plug for the BS kit block off?

I misplaced my rubber cover that came with my kit, and I dont want to pay $10 plus shipping just for the piece. I know you can use a plug and JB weld, but is it just a regular old freeze plug? thanks in advance.

Cool. I didnt know if it was a head freeze plug or engine. Ill just measure it to see if its a 35mm or 44. Ill try to salvage one out of my old block if I can with out damaging it, I just put some in it 4 months ago and never drove it.

Thanks. :talon:

Don't try to re-use a $1 core plug. Just get a new one.

Haha, I knew someone would smack me on the back of the head for that one. Do you know what size would actually work? A lot of places around here dont have them in stock for the 4g63, so if I knew the actual size I could just get one thats for another vehicle.

Ok, I went and got a 35mm plug and JB welded it up after sanding it up and cleaning it. It cracked the wall of the BS seal perpendicular to the case (looks like a piston ring), and then it cracked about a quarter inch along the bottom. It took me awhile to even notice. I just mixed up some more weld and smeared it around real good making it smooth, and then put some on the inside of the case in the seal holes (did a very clean job making sure not to gob shit up and risk something breaking off) I am not worried about anything and I am pleased, but I wold advise for someone doing this way, measure the spot do be plugged and get the exact size, NAPA has every size imagineable.
