Alright, I've searched, and searched. And think I know my own answer but I must double check because it is a difference in a lot of cash.

Pocket logger just offers logging correct? no sort of tuning?

And Dsm Link is the full fledged god of tuning?

I just think it'd cry with a pocket logger seeing how horrible it's running and not being able to fix it.

Thanks in advance guys:talon: :talon:

yeah its just what you said but dsmlink isnt godlike but its a great tuning tool. I have it and I would suggest it to anyone. I love it.

Godlike standalone's are more on the lines of the AEM EMS but this system is NOT for you it takes alot of experiance in tuning to get the full potential out of this system if you wish to tune yourself.

What are you looking to do, tune or logg. There is many tricks very cheap to modding your ECU to make it tunable, such as installing a ZIF socket (16 bucs) new chip empty (8bucs) and an eprom reader and writter (85bucs) software free

Logging tels you what you need to know so that you CAN fix the problem:confused: . If your coolant tem sensor goes out and your car won't start, you can see on your logger a super low coolant temp. If your o2 doesnt cycle and stays low, then you need a new o2 or your airflow is not being calculated correctly. If you're injector dutycycle is super high at WOT, then you likely have a boost leak.

DSMLink has the best logger i've ever used (3 DSM, 1 universal, and 1 turboford)incorporated right in the software. It has taken folks to the low nines!

A few guys are hacking the code on their own and or using the freeware. One that comes to mind is RayPeters. Drop him a line. Perhaps he can help if he isn't so busy:thumb: .

Keep in mind that you get what you pay for. A good tuner can do great w/ a cheaper tuning platform. DSMLink makes things easy.

Other tools that have gotten good reviews:

Engine Control W/ logging:
ECU+
AEM EMS

Loggers:
Scanmaster
