I got my headgasket replaced....TWICE.
First time my shop went ahead and replaced the gasket. Not realizing the head had been warped.
Of course, I returned because the car was still giving me problems. They take everything apart and realize it needed to get resurfaced. It got sent out to get resurfaced to another shop, came back and reinstalled w a new head gasket.
However where the valve cover is...there is a slight leak...
Someone recommend me a good shop to have this checked out. Im in both the riverside and 626 county (city of industry)

when they took your cylinder head off they removed your valve cover and the gasket for that was probably damaged. Just go to your local parts store and order a valve cover gasket, haynes manual (it will tell you step by step how to do this), and some hi-temp silicone. It is very easy to fix this problem and if you have any questions the guys on this forum will help. Good Luck!

Hmm I personally went to go buy that...and its brand new...so then...re-replace it :( Ugh... I hate my shop

Wow that sucks i would be taking my dsm to a different place after an experience like that... wow.
One thing you should double check... make sure your valve cover is indeed leaking from the gasket and not from a crack in the valve cover. Their made of really soft metal and they crack really easy if you ever tighten them.

Other favorite leaks from the top would include: Oil fill cap, Camshaft seals, CAS seal. Some have also reported blowby from the dipstick tube leaving oil on the valve cover. It is also possible that the shop overtorqued the fastners and stripped the threads. If so it would comprimise the valve covers ability to seal. Personally my CAS seems to be leaking :( oh well. Gotta love your DSM :thumb:

What shop do you go to? I think another shop would maybe help or do it yourself but headgasket to me is pretty hard. I have not done one yet.
So the DSM is out for awhile... I hate when that happens :notgood:

They replaced the headgasket without decking it first.
That is a bad shop. If you ever blow a headgasket you should always get the head redone and have the block checked.
It is a lot cheaper to resurface the head the first time, than to install a new HG that shortly lets go and have to go back in and redo the HG again.
Dont take the car back there they sound like hacks.
