Well my clutch is slipping and im in the market for a new clutch. Im liking the price of the spec stage 3. I was a clutch that will perform well all around and not kill my leg after driving. But will all have decent pedal feel. So what are the pros and the cons of these company's?

I have not heard anything about spec clutch, but I have heard about ACT. It depends on your HP goals, for example ACT 2100 pressure plate is what you're looking for, but 2600 is a lot stiffer. Depends on you.

personally i haven't read up much on the spec clutches but i have an act 2600 and i love it. can launch at whatever you feel like with very little slipping if any at all. Also very streetable.:thumb:

2600 hands down and anyone that tells you it sucks to drive needs to hit the gym. My wife drives it fine and she's 145 pounds all boobs

I've had both Spec stg 3 and ACT2600. I will always ALWAYS go with the spec over the ACT, its cheaper, softer pedal, but grabs just as hard.

OH yeah, and the ACT's throw out bearing blew up within about 4k. :thumb:

ACT's are pretty nice. On the dsmforums a lot of people use the ACT clutch and swap the friction disc with a oem one because the springs would fail on the disc. Now they remade them and they reinforced the friction disc so they should last longer.

I was wondering the same thing. Im looking at the spec stage 3+ or an ACT 2600 street disc and i think im going to pick up the spec.

I was thinking about getting the same clutch (Spec Stage 3+). I think Spec might be a bit better then ACT. I would like to know if the light weight option (I think an aluminum pressure plate) is worth the extra money?

im in the same boat but i wanna buy the puck style clutch but i here act is good and haven't heard n e thing bad about the specs:cry:

I own a Spec Stage 2+ and I really like it's psuedo puck/paddle design.
Good grip when I drop it and can still be slipped. I've not tested it racing though. My car is my daily driver.
I like the clutch but I haven't driven an ACT to compare it to.

ACT 2600 all the way. The pedal pressure isn't bad at all. I barely notice. It also comes with an OEM throwout bearing by the way. Just in case you were persuaded by the posters above.

The spec stage 3 is a puck and it is very grabby. I have one in my 200sx and I like the 2600 10x better. Trust me I have both, get the ACT 2600. I holds as much power and is much better for the street. And if you decide to go with the SPEC, I advise you to get the stage 2+. It should be fine for your needs, stay away from puck disc if at all possible.

I have a Spec Stage 3 and I like it. I think next time I'll get a street disc though. It's nice for the price.
