It is kinda hard to tell from the little photo, but my guess is your IC pipe angles arent optimal for the "pretty" fitment within the bumper, or you just cut too much away.

Have any closer, larger, photos? (700x700px max)

the picture is still small but from what i can see, it looks like the piping off the intercooler angles outward, rather inwards to go with the contour of the bumper; or even straight across at least.

Im trying to get the pictures on here but it wont let me upload them. how do people post multiple pics on here thats big?

ok now i really got them fixed. ive had this setup on my talon for about a year now i used the universal piping i tryed to put it under the sub frame and it fit perfect but when i took the car off the lift the piping was on the ground so i found another way to make it fit and this is what happend. the license plate is to cover the big hole in my bumper. does anyone know where i can get a kit that will fit for a good price its a daily driven car and im not look to go past 300 hp

The XS/SS FMIC is a nice clean kit. It will look a hell of a lot better than what you currently have.
I wonder if with your current set up if you could modify the pipes to make them fit better?

Your FMIC mounted like that due to poor design and placement of mounting of the core and the pipes.

There are people who are running custom piping which looks very nice. You just have to put in more R&D.

Just by mentioning you had/have your pipes going under the subframe is hardcore. I would just get the SSAC kit as mentioned. You will find it better in everyway, and probably the same cost.

But if you do intend to keep your setup, just redo the piping. Perhaps mount the core to accomodate for better piping route. It looks like it was rushed, and instead of fixing it at the problem, you just made it work by hacking up your front bumper.

You are right red turbo eclipse i did rush. i just got really mad and choped my bumper up. The kit isnt available on ebay anymore and on the xs website thats too much. anyone know where i can get it for the price it use to be?

players69x, PM 2gAWDTalon. It seems as if he bought out the rights to be the only one to sell the kit for a low price. He is selling it for $310. Still a great price. Some good middleman money for doing nothing, smart guy. LOL.

I tryed to pm him but ive yet to get a response. And he lives like a hour and a half from me if his profile is correct so if i get it hopefully i can pick it up and he can give me some pointers on how to install correctly.

He might do dropshipping so don't be dissapointed if he doesn't have it in stock.:thumb:

Did anyone look to see if the car had been wrecked before? That would explain the black bumper... It looks like the car rear-ended somebody else and fuc*ed it up... That would explain the piping that goes forward of the car being so long...

Has the car been wrecked?

96 Talon with 97-99 front bumper cover

I think he did the intercooler piping like that and was wondering if anyone elses turned out like that. He just needed to do a little more r&d and it would look good.

The car has never been wrecked dude like the post above says its a 96 talon with a 97 front bumper cover. I bought the universal piping but my car was too low so it didnt fit so i got mad and made it fit by cutting away at my bumper.

From what 2g awd talon tells me the kits he is selling are gonna be a pain to put on a t28 can someone tell me whnat else i need to make it work.

The issue is that the t-28 fires towards the passenger side of the car and the ic pipes are set up for a downward firing turbo.

You can either cut the end of the compressor outlet off the t-28 to make it downward firing and use a rubber coupler or you can cut the 90* elbow of the end of the i/c piping ( I recommend this) and use a 180* mandrel bend and two couplers to connect the piping.

Its not a major issu really, its just that its not bolt up like with a mitsu turbo.

I think everyones first IC install looks stupid. Hell on my second one I punched a hole in the radiator. I think the 3rd one I do will be way clean though. Lay the pipes and intercooler out in your head an in real space before hand Don't think just because there is metal in the way a pipe can't go there. It can, trust me : D

I think the eBay FMIC is bigger too, which will fill out the mouth of the grille more evenly. Most peoples IC's I see on here you can't see the end tanks, which makes it look much cleaner.

I did mine the first time the trick is to take your time and mock it up. On the 2g you can go around the lower radiator support on both sides of the car without cutting anything. When you trim your bumper cover dont try to cut it all at once. Cut a little and check it, even if you think your marks are correct. You can always cut a little more its a little harder when you cut too much.
