Ok, well i just replaced my head gasket three weeks ago (felt pro gasket & arp head studs).I torqued the bolts 90ft lbs in three steps 30lbs-60lbs-90lbs. The paper with the studs says to hand tighten the studs is this correct, and is there anything that i should do when i put the new 1 on. I really dont want to have to replace it again in three weeks. I am going with a 4 layer mitsu. this time.

I read the paper from the felt pro kit 72ft lbs but ive read that you can torque arp head studs up to 120ft lbs and have no problems with a 4 layer.

The direction on ARP intructions intruct you to torque to 120ft lbs if your're using motor oil, because of the difference in friction using a different lubricant.

The gasket blow out in the middle of the 2 and 3 piston with a 1 inch gap ive never seen anything like this. I think the head could be worped but i know how that is possible. Any suggestion on what the cause was. I cleaned both sides very well with razer and about 500 grit sand paper. Maybe it was the felt pro gasket i was boosting about 20psi. The car is running very rich due to my 255 walbro but stock 450 injectors.

If you want to find out if your head is warped purchase a machinist straight edge ( dont really have to , but you need something perfectly flat) and a feeler gauge.

Then follow the service manual guide for checking deck flatness.
