I read the parts review:
http://dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=237864

The intake I bought: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...MEWN:IT&viewitem=&item=220093192293&rd=1&rd=1

Same exact one in the thread from the same buyer just my intake is polished.

I thought this would be a simple 10 min mod but I couldn't do it. The coupler that goes from the intake pipe to the MAS is to small. For SURE! He says it's not, but mine is for sure. I didn;t want to take a screw driver to shimmy it on. I didn't want to ruin the finish. So My siggestion was to try and stretch this thig ou somehow or just slice it a little so it could fit. My problem with slicing is that it could create an open seem!

What is the corrrect size of this coupler b.c. I will just go buy it from some distributor.

I made the same mistake of buying something like that. Heres my advice: yes it will fit it just takes some patience.

Put the coupler in the oven at about 100 degrees for no more than a minute or two. The rubber should be soft enough to stretch it over the sensor and intake, then make sure you have a clamps ready so you can just clamp it down ASAP.

The intake pipe side of the 2G MAS is a 4" oval.
I would not use that POS 3" filter adapter.
The 3" opening is to small. The metering in the MAS is done in the middle, the sides allow air to pass by. That little 3" adapter directs all the air flow directly over the sensor causeing the MAS to read ALOT higher airflow than what you are really flowing. This will cause you car to run very rich, even when you tune it out it will not be as smooth as using the right filter adapter and getting good MAS readings. The 4.5" metal adapters seem to work very well but THE K&N FIPK is the best adapter avail. for a 2g MAS IMO. How do I know this, because I used to run that MAS in my car. With a 50 trim at just 20 psi I was logging 51-52lbs/min., the 50 trim is only rated at 49 MAX. I switched to a K&N FIPK and the airflow dropped to 42 lbs/min. After a retun the car ran smother than it ever had in WOT.

That coupler does fit because I have it but it doesn't fit that great. It takes some fenagaling to get it on and I think it might be leaking a bit but it does fit.

Wow, didn't know that about the crappy plastic adapters. I was looking on www.procarparts.com, they have the K&N Filter, with 4.5inch Metal adapter for 49.99- I was thinking of just switching, that since i have the piping and couplers.

They sell that metal 4.5" adapter at the local AutoZone (I dont know if you have a AutoZone near you) for 19.99+tax.

Wow, at first I read this and didnt understand what you were talking about with it making a difference with the 3in adapter. Then after thinking about it, I really feel like a dumba** for never realizing it before. I literally just went into the garage to find the 4.5 in metal adapter I got with my kit to use now. In your opinion 2gAWDTalon do you think a 4.5 in filter will be ok, or should I get the FIPK?
