I recently been having trouble with my car slipping from 3rd to 4th....yea yea, i know end clutches.....ok so i change my end clutches. I take the old ones out, the old ones already looked like the alto kit and looked like new no wear or warping and ALL still had ALOT of friction material on them, but any way i figure maybe a seal is messed up, so i change all the seals they all look like new again. So i put new end clutches on car and take it for test drive. still slips between 3 and 4 only when boosting between 2-3k. Also, i put Translab shift kit in about 1 month ago and 1,000 miles ago, it shifted perfectly for about 3 weeks before this problem, I am very confident i installed the shift kit properly (black race spring :thumb: ). Can someone please help me and give me some ideas? The car is a 97 eclipse GST 91,500

EDIT: I also have the fluid filled up to the correct level with a new filter.

so i took it to IPT and when they test drove it, it stopped shifting funny and now its good. maybe all it takes is a A/t specilist and it will scare the problems out of it..LOL:rocks:

It COULD be your TPS sensor. There is an adjustment you make to it, because if you leave it, sometimes you get slipping, or downshift clunks... Ask IPT, you seem to live close by (LUCKYYYY) Ask them to check your TPS adjustment.

ok so today i called IPT to see if they could adjust my TPS to see if that was my problem....since i nver adjusted that when i put my shift kit in...they told me that doesnt apply in my situation...so can anyone please give me an idea what to do, what to look for, what could be possibly causing this?

You could take your end clutch back out, and re check the seal on the outer end of the piston inside the drum. If it is ripped/cut it could cause problems. This happened to me.

They normally tear DURING installation, so you don't notice it, which is exactly what happened to me.

when i took my old end clutches out the clutches looked new, no warping, and all the seals were perfect, as for the outer seal. when i installed my new end endclutches and seals, i took it for a ride, made no differance in the flaring whatsoever, it was exactly the same. This makes me almost 100 percent its not my endclutches, and hope fully in the valve body or solenoids.
