Well... I just broke off the screw that goes into the TB plate & rod.

I just broke off the screw that bolts the throttle body plate to the rod because I over tightened it. I got the half of the screw out but now I need another screw. Where can I buy another screw? I read on VFaq that the thread is 4mmX.75 and he said that the new screw would probably be a flathead style screw rather then a philips. So, I went up to my local Ace Hardware and I found the screw but the guy that helped me said that my screw (the one I broke off) was hardened steel and this new screw wasn't the same material. Would it be alright to use this new screw? Or where is another place I could buy this screw? Thanks

Check for carburetor shops in your area. They're used to this sort of thing, and will undoubtedly have spares.

You'll be fine just add some medium lock tight to the threads and don't tighten it so hard this time...

I have to concur with the last post. Just funny that he thinks it won't work because it is hardened steel... if you can break it with a screwdriver it can't be that hard.

Awesome!! I'm glad you guys said that. I just bought the damn screws from ACE and put them in with some red locktite. Everything went in fine and I didn't overtighten them this time. Replacing those throttle body shaft seals are a pain. Thanks for your help
