Stuck in gear without being in gear?

I drive a 95 gsx stock everything for the moment and I was driving today and When I went from 2nd to 3rd the car started jumping like it was about to stall so I pushed the clutch in and got to the side of the road. I can start the car up but as soon as I let off the clutch it stalls, and I can move the shifter ONLY to 3rd and if i play with it I can get it into 4th. It will not go into any other gears and wit will not even move from between the 3/4th gear position. HELP

Check the shift linkages at the transmission and at the shifter base. One of the cables could be off at the tranny or it could be out of adjustment at the base.

Yea... Was the shift linkage at the tranny... 5 second fix
