I hope I didn't make a huge mistake. I bought the MSD so I could tune my timing for my turbo project. It sounds like the MSD is used for the drag strip.

QUESTION:
Will I be able to tune the MSD for the street?

The DIS 2 doesn't know, or care, if your on the street or the strip. Anything you do with it will effect you where ever you are.

Tuning a car for a drag application and a street application are different. I will not be running WOT stop light to stop light.

There isn't much to tune with the DIS-2. You can use it for a stutter box launch and you can set the rev limit but only lower than whatever the ECU has it set for. Basically if you have a eprom ecu and its chipped for a 9000 rpm rev limit you can use the DIS to set any limit below 9000. The only aspect of the DIS that you can tune with is timing. You can't advance the timing but you can pull it out based on rpm. This is useful for cars with big injectors running a AFC where you pull so much air out of the MAF signal that you end up on aggressive timing maps. That can make running big boost harder to tune. Like I said earlier that's where the DIS helps out in that you can set it to pull timing based on rpm.
