I went to the greddy garage sale and picked up some stuff i posted a 24v intercooler with full piping, the biggest one greddy makes for an eclipse for 550$ and have no takers...? it retails at 1183.50$ on greddy website. Do people not like Greddy any more?? am i asking to much???? ADVICE PLEASE.

Thanks, Ryan

It’s not a bad price, not great either. Greddy intercooler is very outdated. Its tube and fin if I recalled. It also uses the long route piping which people don't like. The kit also dos not come with the UICP which you have to buy. Seem like the intercooler got a lot of mixed reviews. A ton of people jumped of the ssautochrome fmic, I even recalled someone showing how this eBay intercooler actually performed better than the greddy, and it’s was for half the price of what you are asking for right now.

For a brand new fmic with piping, I don't think it’s too much. But as I said before, too many alternative out there.

Wow thats amazingly, disturbingly sad!! in Cali that $h!t dont fly. I mean how good could they actually work how much boost can they cool...? Proven how by word of mouth?? And i no FOR A FACT TO ALL THAT READ THIS STAY AWAY FROM GODSPEED/FATBOY GARAGE!!!!! if u can show me a link about a ebay 300$ fmic out perfroming a greddy I swear i will buy one on spot. no pun intended whatsoever!!!!

There are a few people selling this kit for $300ish shipped on DSMTuners.

2gAWDTalon sells the SSAC/XS kit for $310 shipped, PM him for more info. I planned to buy one from him, but I need a new clutch before I get a FMIC.

Even if a greddy outflows it, alot of us are cheap and the ebay ones look good and have great resell. I was able to sell an ssauto fmic for 50 more dollars than what I bought it from when people thought ssauto was out of business..

Did I miss the part where there was a pun?

Anyways, I got an ebay IC and it's totally tits. It will never ever flow as well as a greddy or a spearco, but there's another thing slowing my car down just about as much as the flow disparity is, the stack of $100 bills in my wallet :D. How much boost will they hold? How much boost are you planning on running...

I think in the future you'll start seeing more streamlined cores and efficient fins as the Chinese get their copies down a little better to the point where you'd almost be stupid to run a greddy or spearco in anything other than a race vehicle. They are starting to get their crap together with headers too from what I've read.

If it were dedicated race car (or dyno queen, or... show car *bleh!*) I'd be getting a name brand, but for a daily beater or something you take to the strip once in a while you can't beat the ebay IC's.

In summary, that "ish" flies in Cali, it flies in Oregon, it flies in and to all 50 states of the union and probably Canada too.

Back on topic. It will sell for whatever the market will bear. You're being undercut by the Chinese my friend, complain to your senator. Or other better advice, sometimes it takes a while to move expensive parts like that. You've gotta find someone whose willing to chop the crap out of the front of their car to mount that beast and part with $550. Also, you say you went to the garage sale, how much did you get it for? Maybe the other people who would be interested in something like that might have grabbed one at that price. Maybe other people need it installed for them, so they are willing to pay retail. Who knows, tack on an OBO to the end of the ad and see what happens.

im an ex Greddy 24r fmic kit user. The very one you bought. That kit is inferior in almost every way compared to the SS Autochrome XS Power 2g fmic kit for $295 SHIPPED.

Also you said that kind of stuff doesnt fly in cali? I'm from cali, and also GreddyGST, and he made 500whp with the same fmic kit. There are others too with big turbo setups. My car does not heatsoak at all after a few runs with the ebay kit compared to the Greddy.

The greddy is tube and fin, smaller core, crappy piping route, and only the piping to the stock smic location, and smaller diamter piping, NOT t-bolt clamps, and not 4ply couplers, not polished pipes, and cost $500 as a GOOD DEAL, and 800-1000+ for retail.

The 2g ebay fmic kit is $295 shipped, bigger better bar and plate core, 2.5" diameter piping polished finished, short route piping, upper and lower. 4ply couplers AND t-bolt clamps.

Looks like we'll be expecting you to buy one soon. :) Good luck trying to sell that fmic kit to any knowledgeble dsm owner. I sold mine for $400 shipped. But this was before anyone trusted the ssac kit. I dont know how much it would sell now.

a few of my friends here in california are running the ssac intercoolers for $295. i personally made 306awhp on a mustang dyno, my first conservative tune. my new setup is aimed for 420-430awhp on the same fmic. my friend luis is running one on a 2.3 stroker with a gt35r. 400awhp on pump @20psi. looking for well over 500awhp on meth injection, with the ebay fmic.

unlmtdndeavor, were you the 1g owner who bought the 2g kit and made it fit nicely on their 1g? I remember he was from the bay area as well I believe, the posts and pics are lost somewhere in that gigantic ebay fmic thread.

I'd agree with this 100% The Greddy kit is inferior in just about every way compared even compared to the "Ebay" setup. Small pipeing, extra long route, tube & fin core, cheep clamps & couplers, fragile core & add Greddy horrible customer service. Huge rip off IMO. Maybe 10 years ago it would have been a great IC but there are so many better choices out there nowadays. Personally I think you'll have to drop the price a good amount if your going to find a taker when you consider what else is on the market.

I agree with everyone else. The SS autocrap kit is tested and true. It is the best $300 I've invested in my car so far. I guarantee that is why you're having trouble selling the Greddy. Also, I personally don't like Greddy parts because I feel like you're paying for the name, not necessarily better parts.

On a side note, I would like to thank GreddyGst for doing such a good write up on the ssautochrome install. I made putting mine on a breeze. Kudos sir.

daren, you are correct, 10 years ago it was one of the top expensive choices, as said by RRE in their 2g upgrade path.
http://roadraceengineering.com/2gupgradepath.htm

When I got my first dsm about 6 years ago, thats what I went by and only had the greddy as my #1 choice, this was during the time when custom vendor ics were just coming into the market. But they cost upwards to $2k, so the Greddy at 900-1000 was a deal.

My have the times have changed.

man i remember a year ago i went crazy bidding on a greddy 24r used kit on ebay i bit up to 600 dollars thank god i didnt win. i now have teh xs power/autochrome kit which i got for 297 shipped short short route piping and its amazing. just an fyi theres a group buy on talk for 310 shipped in the classifieds if anyone still wants one seeing how they dont sell them on ebay anymore.

Yea how weird, it looks like that guy contacted ssautochrome and bought them out so he can be the only one to sell it, and make a few bucks off it. But even at $310 thats a good price, hell $400 would still be good if we weren't exposed to how cheap it was already. And before it got popular you could get it for $250 or less SHIPPED! But myself and everybody else were too busy ragging on it. LOL.
