The car is not in my possesion yet. Picking it up on sunday. I have an extra 95 ecu that is being equipped with link as we speak. The car has a afc in it. It was broken into and a couple of the wires were cut. Do I just need to re-solder the air signal wire back into the ecu clip or do I need to get another harness and zero the afc out then solder that wire. Also, is it just one wire or two. I have never dealt with an afc. I just go straight to link.

Now I'm hoping i just need to put in the new ecu and re-solder that wire and then I should be good to go. I've found a couple threads on the topic but its either one answer or the other.

The only wire that is actually cut is the airflow signal wire. All other wires are tapped into and can be removed. Just be sure you tape up where it was tapped to eliminate the risk of shorting something out.

im pretty sure if the car was broken into and they stole the AFC then they cut the wires off the the AFC. All the wires are tapped into like quaismondo said, except for the one. So solder that one and tape everything up and make sure nothing is exposed.

Yeah, you just have to re-solder the orginial connections back together and make sure you jacket all exposed wires.
Link works nothing like AFC, so you don't have to worry about "zeroing" anything out. It just intercepts a signal, not reprograms it. Once the AFC is gone, in other words, the values aren't set to memory, so to speak.
Don't you hate that when someone doesn't wanna spend a few extra bucks on a harness extention, so you don't have to mess up the orginial ECU harness.

Ok thanks. Looks like im headed out to be a soldering gun and materials. How much is it going to run me.

a soldering gun/iron can run anywere from $10 to $200 , im sure you can pick up a cheep one that will do the work you require of it. Mine is a cordless one that runs on butane and i picked it up for like $20

Yeah you can get a cheap kit for like 10-20 dollars, they have like starter kits that come with flex, a stand, iron, and sponge, ect....
FYI, or future reference, there are DSM Shops out there that sell ECU Patch Harnesses, so you don't have to tinker into the factory harness....you can just splice all your connections from there. If you ever sell the components, or car, you can just unplug and go.

Good Luck!
