Brake noise?..

Well first off before i start explaining the problem i do have warped aem big disc brakes if this helps any ... ok well i am hearing a clinking noise coming from both of my front rims sounds like metal on metal but when i turn the wheel one way one of the rims stops the noise and the ohter way the other rim stops the noise i am stumped.. but i think it could possibly be my brakes since they are warped. also i was wondering if i could shave them considering they are drilled and slotted

That sounds weird....I myself would put the car up on some jack stands...turn the wheel and try to locate where the probelm is coming from, and do process of elimination.

From what you are describing that is most likely the bearings making the noise.

It is possible to turn (shave) the rotors but most shops won't do it for you.

If the noise was being caused by the brakes then it wouldnt go away just by turning the steering wheel.

Check you caliper mounting brackets. They could be lose.

You could buy two new oem rotors for what it costs to turn one.

Pick up your front end and see if you can move your wheel from side to side. If you can, or you can without any effort, your wheel bearings are bad.

Could also be a loose lugnut on your wheel.

thanks for all the help i am going to pull off my wheels tonight and thoroughly check it out... but i did jack up my car and turned the wheels to try and locate where and what it could be but all i heard was metal on metal clicking noise and heard that it was behind the rim but i also observed that their were small cracks on the borders of both rotors could this b a possible problem and i think i can rule out the wheel bearing because i know what that sounds like and thats definately not it any more possibilities with the new knowledge

Since you have cracks on your rotors, you should not try to turn (shave) them anyway. Just spend the extra money to get a new set.
