2G-specific maft, afc, and keydiver...problem

---Sorry for the long post--

Hi, I just recently acquired a maft setup for free from a friend. I have keydiver stage 3 and an afc to fine tune. I set my translator to all zeroes except for the injector compensation, i set it to 450 for factory, i already have the chip compesating for my 560's. Now, ever since i installed the maft, i have little to no power at all. i connected my logger and i dont even see my timing go up, it stays around 8-11 max. I tried tuning with afc by richening or leaning the mixture but i get high knock either way. Maybe im not doing it right or something. my 1000 rpm trim was around +17 so i had to take out -12/14 on the safc, i did that for 1000, 2000, and 3000 then carried 3000 all the way on the low trims. I left the high alone for now since like i said, im only using the translator to vent thats it. Still no power, no timing, and knock like a mofo. So today i said screw it and put my old setup back(2g mas), and zeroed out the afc since i have the chip. Now on part throttle around 4-5th gear under load, i see my knocksum gauge rising almost pegged. I reset the ecu by disconnecting the negative terminal for about 5 mins. What is going on? any help/ suggestion would be appreciated. thank you

Wait a second where are you even getting the knock sum from. 2g logger doesnt show it. Anyways you say the timing doesnt rise so thats a lot of knock there. You sure you dont have a large boost leak?

i have the converted boost to knocksum gauge. I havent done a boostleak yet but if ever i do have a leak then it would be around the TB. How come i only see knock under load on 4-5th gear? WOT in 1,2,3rd maybe around 4-5 knocks. what is going on?

Thats normal to see more knock in the upper gears. At least thats how its been with the two dsm's ive played with for the last 7 years.

I tuned my car to 3rd gear and in the upper gears I would still have a little knock. I then did a good 4th gear run and added a little fuel where the knock is. It runs like a champ now. I do need to have it tuned with a WBO2.

After a maf upgrade like that you always want to fix your boost leaks. Fix them and try to add a little fuel and see if it helps get rid of some knock.

its never been like this though. thats why i think its kinda odd. Ever since i did the maft setup, knock has been a normal thing. Then now that ive decided to go back to my old setup, knock is still there. Im thinking maybe its the ECU still trying to relearn or something. I will do a boostleak and try to richen up top.

i spoke with jeff about the matter and he's pretty sure its the octane fuel im using and the too aggressive timing map. He burnt me a 93 octane with aggressive mapping the first time. Hes sending me a new chip with 91 octane and afr lower than 11.5 hopw this helps.
