today i was on the interstate ... uhh i mean race track and i redlined it in 3rd and i have some super boost creep happening. I got 11 lbs of boost today when im only supposed to get 4-5..... Normally i leak a little oil out of the valve cover breather filter but today.... i lost almost a quart of oil out of my breather valve and some out of the filler cap.... is there anyway to stop the "excessive crankcase pressure", or at least prevent that much oil from leaking because it was rediculous. But that audi definately got put to shame:sneaky: ive heard of catch cans or just diverting the oil with a hose but id rather not blow a quart of oil out of my engine... moble 1 isnt cheap..... any help at all is appreciated! thanks!

As far as the oil fill cap, if your still using the "7 10 " stock oil cap, get a new one from the dealer. The stock ones leak oil, the new ones dont. My valve cover was covered in oil all the time until I got a new cap.

definately will get a new cap thanks for the reply!..... now about the breather.....

Yes, there is a way to stop the excessive crankcase pressure..........get rid of the breather and go back to the stock setup with a new oem PVC valve. Here is a discussion on why the stock configuration is more effective at relieving pressure.

There is also a recommendation for a check valve to be used in conjunction with the PCV to combat PCV leaks under higher boost.

i cant use the stock setup because i have a 420a and when you turbo it everything changes and i would have a hose with nothing to attatch the end to..... i did fairly recently replace my pcv the last one was siezed up is one breather better than another or a different after market set up? and thanks for the link zilo!

they might be? i have a totaled 98 gst behind my house if they are ill steal that one and see if its any better!

Oops, I missed that you are N/T conversion. But yeah, the oil caps are the same for turbo and non-turbo.:)

New PCV, And run a catch can in place of the "breather". Make sure it's a sealed can and run the other line back to the intake. You may have to drill and tap in an npt fitting but if you really want to stop it, that may be what you'll have to do.

Also, for the oil cap, an easy fix is to just get a new gasket, and put the new one on top of the old one. Makes for a MUCH tighter seal. But typically a new cap does the trick.
