Interested in Dejon's version of Greddys old Type S

I am in the market for a new BOV and Dejon used to carry the Greddy Type S for about $160 if memory serves me right, but once I got to the site I found they no longer carry it (because of quality issues?), and now offer a copy of the the Type S. Does anybody have this on their car? And if so is it any good because I remember coming across a thhread about the knock offs that were being sold on ebay, and those BOV's leaked like crazy once you put boost on them. The price of the Dejon seems almost too good but I know from experience that they have quality parts. I think i'm gonna go for it.

They're the same as the ebay knockoffs, just with Dejontool printed on them.
They work great but theres a catch:
-diaphram prone to failure
-low grade hardware easily mangled

I've been using my ebay type s (again the same thing) and have only had the bolts strip a bit on me, nothing too serious. Holds boost fine, works perfectly.
I'd save your cash and get an ebay bov, unless dejon can offer you a 2 year warranty or something.
But then again, there is something to be said about supporting our vendors. I went ebay cause I needed a bov and I was broke.

They stopped carrying them because Greddy discontinued them so they wouldn't be competing with their new RS series, not because of quality issues

Just buy a used authentic Greddy Type S. They're like 80 bucks. I'm sure you can find SOMEONE selling one.

I wouldn't trust those knock-off BOV or Wastegates. Get a used Greddy Type S or better a Type RS. The Turbo XS BOV are good too

I have a knock off type-s bov. It was on the car when I bought it. I was having major issues untill I did the single spring mod.

I have a Greddy type RS that I bought from Dejon (who doesn't sell greddy parts anymore) the adjustment bolt stripped and was leaking from the top of the hat. Dejon shipped me their S knockoff while I sent them my RS for repair.

Side by side the actual RS's valve is a lot larger than the S knockoff, and the RS is physically heavier. They both hold boost better than the stock plactic bov, but I'd trust the actual Greddy RS for higher boost because of its higher quality internals.

But if you do want a knockoff S bov, get it from Dejon. Their customer service is awesome.

I bought my (authentic) used GReddy Type S with GReddy upper IC piping on eBay for $120 shipped. I've had it on my car for about 6 months now and it has worked great.

me too...i bought my type-s off of someone on this site in the classifieds section. hasnt failed me yet. i hear that theyre pretty leaky once you start to up the boost. i guess we will see. gotta love the sound tho....so original...plus you get some extra kudos to know that you have a discontinued bov that no one really has anymore
