I'm putting my engine together today, and a friend of mine stopped in the shop to check it out.

When he noticed my Precision 6152 sitting on the table, he made a comment that the turbo would probably not spool till around 5k rpms on a 2.0L.

I'm just curious for any of you that are currently running the SCM6152, if this is the case.

If so, I'll get a different turbo. Because my goal for this build is to have a fun street car, and with a turbo spooling at 5k, that won't be the case.

I would appreciate any input.

Anywhere between 4400-5200 rpm. Mainly depends on tune, cams, exhaust, and exhuast manifold. My 60-1 is slightly smaller on the compressor side with the same turbine wheel and full spool is reached around 4200 in 3rd gear. Any question about my other mods can be answered by looking at my profile. It is still very fun and slower spool is hardly noticed because of the increase in usable rpm's with the larger turbo. What are your overall goals, power, spool time, and budget?

Well I've already bought everything. And as we speak, I'm getting ready to put the head on.

Here's what I've got:

6 bolt block w/ Balance shaft removal kit.
Weisco Forged Pistons
Brian Crower connecting rods
EVO exhaust manifold Ported with 38mm WG flange
780cc injectors
AEM High flow Fuel rail
Walboro 255lph pump
PTE SCM6152
Tial 38mm WG
MAFT
Stock 2g head

Probably have some more, but can't think of them off the top of my head.

Uhh what are you planning to rev to. If your going to be shifting at 8k+ then your power band is going to be fine.

edit just saw stock head.

I would highly suggest some cams and springs/retainers and rev it a bit higher :)

You won't mind the slower spooling turbo when it kicks in

same thing here, although im gonna be hitting up the track ocasionally good information as i just bought a 6152 with a 35r compressor wheel. id like to know also how it will perform on a 2.0 on the streets ( mods in profile) the 6152 is PTES version of the 35R

i was passenger and drove in my friends car with that same setup tuned by boost boy racing. and it pulled phomianal on a street tune. he will be running it in imports vs domectics this year at maryland international raceway this year. i still race my turbo mustang. soi'am use to going fast and it felt like a 10 sec pull in the pit area at MIR raceway. we spent the nite there during import shoot out this year and he was not there to run the event but merely drop his there for a tune and wire job. and one before that he ran 11.90 breaking up and down the way down the track and missed 2nd.at capital raceway.the car he feels waaaay faster now since he could it to MIR then capital. i do own a 92 awd 6/4 combo too.:thumb::thumb:
