I have my transfer case out to replace a bad clutch and pp. If there anything I should do while I hacve everythign out??(even stuff that doesnt have to do with the drivetrain?

While you are doing the clutch, you could look into a little bit lighter flywheel... Act makes really nice, streetable flywheels that don't cause shitty idle. Just and idea.

im in the middle of a trans job-burned out 2nd so its at TRE now,i have a 1g w/ 155k,both front axles needed to be re-booted-paid an axle shop $100 to rebuild both,a tie rod end didnt make it,so i replaced both with brand new mitsubishi units, bought an ACT streetlite flywheel, got a new throw out,ACT clutch disk, clutch fork, pivot ball, ordered a stainless braided clutch hose, and when its back together, ill get new ball joints when it gets an alignment
not everything i did was necessary, just paid a little extra for piece of mind

Right now im just replacing the stock clutch, pp, and throw out bearing with a XTD "stage 3" Clutch kit. Im new to DSM (got mine 2 weeks ago) and new to transmissions(never took one out). So, i dont know much of what do to. The stock clutch had been worn down to the rivet things that hold it together and those had dug about 3-4mm into the pressure plate. The flywheel looks salvagable, it has some heat marks and a few very small cracks but nothing major. Should I replace the flywheel or get it machined?(I am on a very very tight budget) Either way, will I have to get it stepped to fit the XTD clutch plate?

i think the fidanzas are going for like $202-ultrarev.com,its gonna cost between 50-100 to get it stepped/resurfaced,i understand the budget part but id see what i could do to just upgrade while its easy to do(trans out)

I attempted to fix my broken ground effects on my Firebird using fiberglass resin and a cut up t-shirt. If it turns out good im going to do a custom fiber glass hood and some interior stuff. As for the hood, here is my idea...
Cut and weld the hood "hump" from another hood onto the other side of my hood giving it two symetrical humps, then put a vent in the front of each one. What do you all think?
