getting a new head

well my lifters have gone bad on my 99 gst and im getting a new head put on this weekend. My motor has 94000 miles on it. Has anybody ever done this and still be able to do alot of engines mods. what are my chances of still building something with this motor?

Do some more searching. You will find that a lot of people have had new heads/headgaskets installed without any problems.
Also lifters going bad does not mean it is timeto replace the head.

I put a rebuilt head on my car before I even started doing any mods. As long as there arent any other things wrong with the motor it will be fine.

you can throw some new lifters in that car in 1 day and drive it home. IF you decide to do a head, if it is done right, it will run better than one with 94k, so mod away.

just a recomendation

get the revised 3g lifters- that will eliminate the dreaded dsm lifter tick.

also don't forget to bleed them before putting them in also
