I recently just installed an Evo 16g in my 97 eclipse gst and i love it but i recently made a trip and was on I-95. I attempted to get on it and while in 5th gear boosting about 14-15 psi, the engine jerks a couple of times but keeps on going. What can i do to fix this? Do i need to upgrade wires and plugs or something cause i'm pretty much still on stock wires and NGK bpr7es plugs? I appreciate any feedback

How does it jurk?? Does it feel like a missfire. I would upgrade wires, check your gap, how old are plugs? Also do a boost leak and get a logger to make sure you not getting lots of timing pull.

Try the boost leak test, I had a decent leak after I installed my 14b and it led to too much air flowing in and hitting fuel cut, similar situation to yours it seems.

First make sure you are recirc. your bov. Then do a boost leak test. Then check your plug gap and go back to BPR6ES plugs. You don't have the mods to need a 7 plug yet. Plug wires should be fine. No need to replace them if nothing is wrong. You can check the resistance in the wires and see if it is all the same. Also get a datalogger to monitor airflow and timing curve which will help you diagnose problems easier.

Well honestly on the plugs, they say anything other than stock boost that you should go a step colder. Check to see what your Spark Plugs look like. It is possible that you have a boost leak, engine misfire, or even maybe you might be hitting fuel cut. In Iowa, i'm running 11 psi and I will hit fuel cut if I get on her pretty good. That though is because it's been stay well below 0 degrees lately. Check everything in order of Spark Plugs and wires, boost leak, otherwise its pretty possible your hitting fuel cut.

Definitely a misfire. The stock wires should be alright unless they are frayed or damaged. Running the colder plugs is not a problem unless they are fouled so check them. Also, if you did not gap them then that is most likely your problem. There are two sets of NGK plugs sold, one pre-gapped to nearly what we run and another that's gapped to something obscene like .044 or close to that, the BPR7ES-11. My guess is that's your problem.
