big overboostq

I took my car for a spin today to get some gas moving through it after letting her warm up and when I got on it, she pulled and spooled really fast, so I checked the boost gauge and it was up to 26 psi (I run 16 right now) so I let off really quick and then it happened. my egts now wont come up over 350 or so (celcius) and I peaked at 810. and I was right by my house so I decided to limp it home the block and a half. I was having to run 50-70% throttle to keep the rpms around 2500-3000 in first gear. so my question is, did I just blow my plugs (to cold to check -20 right now..... brr) or did something else really bad go wrong (like melt a piston ) there was no coolant that I saw around the head which is good unless its under the intake manifold. I was not able to get the engine to rev past 3000 except for a couple of small blips - and I was getting black to light black smoke which I never get. please help asap as I need to get this thing running

When you say "and then it happened" what exactly do you mean?

It doesn't sound like you were on it long enough to melt a piston. I would do a compression test first. If the results aren't good do a leak down test to find out why.

haha i was really worried so I didnt even think to check the i/c piping... I actually discovered it last night when I went back out after cooling down from freaking out. I blew my lower i/c pipe right off well maybe it was a good thing because I was planning on running 24 psi once the link is installed and then I would have done it and been royally pissed. You might want to look into why you hit 26psi. Maybe your MBC vac lines popped off or your WGA is bad. After all, that's what led to the IC pipe coming off, and if you're not set to handle that much boost, you might be less lucky next time.
